Jeff Barber
Jeff began working with Glass in January of 1995.
Having never taken any
formal classes, he has learned through books, videos, lots of practice and
experimentation.
Jeff enjoys using a variety of glass types, Borosilicate,
Bullseye, Moretti, and his current favorite Satake. Each has their own color
palette and working characteristics, which allow him to create a wide variety
of unique and interesting beads. He employs many techniques including the use
of silver, copper and gold leaf, metal oxides, color mixing, murrini and iridizing.
He began doing business as Lakeside Art Glass in 1998, creating custom stained
glass windows, functional and artistic fused glass pieces and lampwork beads.
He teaches bead making classes at J. Ring Glass Studio in St. Paul, MN, as well
as other studios through out the area. Jeff's work is available through several
shops and galleries, including the Bead Monkey in Minneapolis and St. Paul and the
Lampwork Museum in Kobe, Japan, as well as the many Art Fairs and Bead Shows he
attends each year through out the U.S.
